Christine Maxted is the featured soprano soloist for Explorations, the Manassas Symphony's Annual Family Concert on December 10, 2022. She is singing two beloved Puccini arias — Si, mi chiamano Mimi, from La bohème and O mio babbino caro, from Gianni Schicchi.
Christine Maxted serves as the theatre teacher at Gainesville High School and as adjunct theatre faculty for Northern Virginia Community College. She holds her MA in Theatre Education and is currently pursuing her MLA in Dramatic Arts at Harvard University. Performance venues have included Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap for the Performing Arts, Harman Center, NextStop Theatre, Workhouse Arts Center, Little Theatre of Alexandria, Upper Room Theatre, Prince William Little Theatre, and Good Shepherd Players. Christine has been a featured soloist for the Manassas Chorale, Manassas Symphony Orchestra, 2019 Prince William All County Choir Concert, and ETWN televised masses and concerts.
Christine is known to MSO audiences for her stunning portrayal of Mother Abbess in the Summer 2022 collaborative MSO-PWLT production of The Sound of Music. Highlights of her singing career have included singing for Junípero Serra’s Canonization Mass celebrated by Pope Francis and participating in the PBS documentary, The Defiant Requiem where she performed at international venues in Prague and Budapest. Although Christine loves to perform, she experiences immense joy bringing others to the stage as well.
