Mira Nair is a 15-year-old violinist from Centreville, Virginia, and a student of Emil Chudnovsky in Washington, D.C. She began studying the violin at age seven with Boyeon Brown and has shown steady dedication and artistic growth ever since. A junior at Chantilly High School during the 2026-27 school year, she has been a member of the Capital Symphonic Youth Orchestra since age nine.

Nair advanced steadily through the Capital Symphonic Youth Orchestra, serving as concertmaster of the Prelude Orchestra before joining the Symphonic Orchestra at age twelve as its youngest member and second chair, performing alongside high-school musicians. She later became Assistant Concertmaster of the American Youth Symphonic Orchestra and concertmaster of her high school orchestra, and is now a first violinist in the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, the organization’s most advanced ensemble.

She has been selected for numerous honor ensembles, including Junior District Orchestra, Senior District Orchestra, and Senior Regional Orchestra. Her honors include a gold medal at the VBODA Solo Spotlight and first place in the chamber music division at the TRIUMPH International Music Festival as a member of a quintet.

Away from music, Mira is a student-athlete in track and diving and holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Since early childhood she has helped her family foster dogs through Big Fluffy Dog Rescue.
