The Manassas Symphony is delighted to announce that, after a nine-month search and audition process, we have named Dr. Daria Olinger as the MSO’s new concertmaster, effective immediately.
Dr. Olinger has been playing the violin for 20 years, inspired by her parents, who both studied music. Growing up in Roanoke, VA, she took private lessons with Jane Wang and Benedict Goodfriend for seven years until graduating high school. During high school, Daria played with the Roanoke Youth Symphony Orchestra for four years, followed by two years with the New River Valley Symphony at Virginia Tech while in college.
Since joining the Manassas Symphony Orchestra in 2019, Daria has continued refining her technique through private lessons with Dr. Joanna Owen. Outside of the orchestra, Daria is a small-animal veterinarian in Dumfries, where she enjoys caring for her patients and getting to know their owners.
